NIMISHILLEN CREEK LEAP IS BACK!
Join us on Saturday, September 19th for a morning of community service as we work together to clean up the waterways throughout Stadium Park, Monument Park, and Water Works Park!
Saturday, September 19th
Registration & Waivers: 8:30 AM
Cleanup Begins: 9:00 AM
Meet at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum Auditorium
Roll up your sleeves and help make a difference in our local waterways! Volunteers will work throughout the parks collecting litter and helping improve the health and beauty of the Nimishillen Creek watershed.
Lunch will be served following the cleanup!
This is a great opportunity for:
• Students needing community service hours
• School groups
• Scouts
• Churches and community organizations
• Civic groups and other organizations looking for community service opportunities

At the August 4, 2026 meeting of the Stark County Regional Planning Commission (RPC), conditional approval was given to Nelson’s Bar & Grille for a 912 sq. ft. addition on the east side of Whipple and north of Hills and Dales in Plain Township. Owner, Rajinder Bhav, stated, “Currently, there is a roof hang over and we will be adding pillars to make it a patio so customers can sit outside.”

At the July 7, 2026 meeting of the Stark County Regional Planning Commission (RPC), conditional approval was given to Dairy Queen – Tuscarawas/SR 172 & Anna for a 2,161 sq. ft. building on the northwest corner of Tuscarawas/SR 172 and Anna in Perry Township. Plan preparer, Josh Drummond, stated, “We will demo the existing structure and put the Dairy Queen there. There will be 16 seats for interior dining and two drive-thrus. This will be a great addition to the community. We are looking to open early spring of next year.”
