New Medicaid work requirements start January 1, 2027.

These changes will affect some adults in Medicaid Expansion (Group VIII). People in this group may need to complete 80 hours of work or another approved activity each month to keep their coverage or qualify for an exemption.

There are several exemptions, and you’ll need documentation to show that you qualify.

Medicaid Expansion will also move to 6-month renewals instead of once a year.
