A safe, stable home is the foundation for a brighter future. 🏠✨

YWCA Canton’s Permanent Supportive Housing provides low-barrier, affordable housing for individuals and families experiencing chronic homelessness who are living with disabilities — paired with voluntary supportive services that help participants build stability and lead independent, successful lives.

Through our three housing sites — totaling 106 units — residents have access to safe housing, utilities included, with rent based on 30% of income. More importantly, they gain the support and resources needed to create lasting change.

Because everyone deserves the dignity of having a place to call home.

If you or someone you know is in need of housing support, registration begins with the Homeless Hotline at 📞 (330) 452-4363.

Volunteers make a difference at YWCA Canton!

We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated volunteers who give their time and energy to support YWCA Canton. Your hard work helps us serve our community every single day. Thank you for all you do!

Many of our volunteers serve in our Donation Room and Pantry, where they help:
🧺 Process and sort donations
🧹 Organize items and supplies
🧼 Assist with cleaning and upkeep
🥫 Help maintain our pantry space

These volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming and organized environment for the individuals and families we serve.

We are currently looking for more volunteers to join us! If you are interested in giving back and helping in our Donation Room, we would love to connect with you.

📞 Please call YWCA Canton at 330-453-7644 ext. 135 and ask for Crystal to learn more and coordinate a volunteer opportunity.

Together, we can continue making a meaningful impact in our community.

Today, we pause to honor and remember.

On this Memorial Day, we reflect with gratitude on the courage and sacrifice of the brave service members who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their legacy reminds us of the responsibility we share to build communities rooted in dignity, compassion, and opportunity for all.

As we remember those we’ve lost, we also reaffirm our commitment to creating a future grounded in justice, equity, and hope.

From all of us at YWCA Canton, we honor their sacrifice and hold their memory with deep gratitude.

This AAPI Heritage Month, YWCA USA honors Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, a trailblazing suffragist and
Teachers College alum who fought for women’s right to vote while still a teenager. At just 16,
she led New York City’s 1912 suffrage parade on horseback—yet was barred from voting
herself under the Chinese Exclusion Act. We celebrate Mabel as an unsung changemaker
whose legacy continues to inspire our fight for equity and justice.
