Hope you all are staying warm.....As we come to the due date for the 1st half payment of property taxes, (February 28), we are well aware that the 28th falls on a Sunday. So we will accept payments over the phone and in the office only on March 1st with no interest charges. You do not need an appointment to do business with the Treasurer's Office or the Public Trustee Office.

If you are mailing you payment, please make sure that it is postmarked by the 28th of February.

Good morning! So bad news, the insert for the Delinquent Tax Lien sale list did not make it in the paper as scheduled this weekend. I have contacted them and no one knows what happened. I do offer my sincerest apologies to those that were expecting it as well. We cannot post the Online List until we are sure it is in the newspaper as promised.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Good morning! So with all the new "mandated" rules with social distancing, we will be holding our annual Delinquent Tax Lien Sale online. This is something I had often said that we would never do. Rules are rules and I have to be able to hold the sale while still ensuring that masks are being worn and social distancing guidelines are being followed. So my plan is this year will be online and next year we will go back to the "live" auction. I will be posting updates as we get closer to the middle of October. The sale will still be held on November 19th, and payment will have to be in the office no later than November 26th. I do not have the link information as of yet, but will post that when I receive it. Registration for the sale will open the 19th of October. Please contact the office if you have any questions. 719-276-7380 email [email protected]

Just thought I would let everyone know that it is going to be extremely difficult scheduling appointments in my office, so we have to limit the number of people in the office at any time to 2.

I truly am sorry for the inconvenience this is causing the citizens and property owners in Fremont County. We are still urging tax payers that are using a check, to please use the drop box to the left of the Macon entrance on the wall.

We do check this several times a day, and we will send you a receipt for your payment(s).

Please let us know if you need assistance or if you have any questions. (719)276-7380 [email protected]

We are all hoping that this is all over soon!

Thank you!

Good afternoon!
The Commissioner's have extended the closure of the Administration Building through April 19, 2020. Please contact the office as we are here to assist you in any way that we can. We hope that in the near future, we can return to a state of normalcy. Please be safe and stay healthy!

Good morning!

We have just received notification that the Fremont County Administration building has been closed to the public, effective immediately and will remain in effect through this week, initially. Please contact the office at 719-276-7380 or at [email protected] should you have further questions. We will try to make this situation as convenient as we can for our customers.

There is a drop box to the left of the front doors. (Macon Ave Entrance) If you are wanting to pay with a Credit/Debit Card, we can do that over the phone for you.

I will try to keep everyone updated as I receive updates.

Stay well!

Happy New Year! I cannot even believe how fast this year went. I know everyone is waiting with baited breath as to when the tax notices will be mailed out.....They should, hopefully go out on Monday, January 6th, 2020.

There is a few items I need to cover: 1) The first 1/2 is due by the end of February. The 29th is on a Saturday, so please make sure payments are postmarked by this date. We do also have a drop box to the left of the front door to the Administration Building. Those confused....the front door is the door facing Macon Avenue, not the side entrance by the Motor Vehicle Department. 2) For those of you that no longer wish to receive a hard copy notice, on your notice that you receive this year, on the middle right hand side, there is a place you can go online and register your code, which is only tied to property that is titled to your name. If you have more than one property, but the name is different in any way, you will have more than one code. There will also be a separate insert explaining the process in a little more detail. 3) There is a different web address for the Online Payments. This will take you on a more direct path than what was previously provided.

Please do not hesitate to call the office should you have any questions or concerns. 719-276-7380. We are open Monday through Thursday, from 7 am to 5 pm.

We hope you have a blessed 2020!
