Department of Local Affairs’ Pre-Application Window for June Round of Emergency Rental Assistance
Closes on June 10, 2026
STATEWIDE – The Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) will open the June round of emergency rental assistance pre-applications on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. and will close on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 5 p.m. The Department’s top priority is to serve as many Coloradans equitably and efficiently as possible. Emergency rental assistance funding is available to eligible Coloradans who have fallen behind on their rent, meet income limits and other qualifying factors, and are at risk of eviction or displacement. Those facing eviction will continue to be prioritized.
Once the pre-application window closes, all applicants will be entered into a random selection. Selected applicants will receive an email invitation to complete a full application on the online portal. To be considered for assistance, applicants must meet the qualifying factors and submit the completed application and all required documentation before the deadline listed in the selection email.
In the random selection process, the timing of submission does NOT impact an applicant’s chances of being selected (for example, being first does not increase your chances in the random selection). All eligible applicants who submit a pre-application by the deadline will be entered into the random selection process. Coloradans who need assistance completing an application or who have questions are welcome to contact the CARE Center at (303) 838-1200, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time. The CARE Center will assist callers as they are able.
Applicants in this round will use the redesigned CERA webpage, which launched in March and focuses on a more user-centered and accessible experience. The updated page makes it easier to see how to apply and who is eligible, and enhances use of the page on mobile devices. DOLA’s goal is to increase efficiency in our operations by streamlining the process for people experiencing housing emergencies and to ensure easy access to support with clearly highlighted CARE Center contact information.
In addition to assisting with emergency rental assistance applications, the CARE Center provides and connects individuals with a variety of housing stability services. These services are designed to help people stay safely housed and may include support with eviction prevention, housing counseling, landlord-tenant mediation, legal aid, and other resources tailored to meet individual needs. Coloradans are encouraged to reach out to the CARE Center to learn more about the support available.
