Check out the new pedestrian refuge median at Main Street and 7th Street (at the bandshell and park and ride lot)! Thanks to Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Active Transportation Planning Assistance for the City of Cannon Falls, our Public Works Dept was able to install this temporary project to have pedestrians test this out and see if it is utilized to implement a permanent installation in the future. It will be up all summer and into the fall to provide a safe crossing, resting median and protected shoulder to walk/bike on the south side.

MnDOT and Public Works will be installing a temporary demonstration project Wednesday, May 13th between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street West and 7th Street North by John Burch Park and the Park and Ride. This is part of the Active Transportation Plan the city conducted to test out what adding a crosswalk to this area could provide to increase safety for pedestrians and bicyclers. Please obey the flaggers while they are in the area. We need your input, Cannon Falls! It has been over 20 years since the city has updated its Comprehensive Plan which guides our leaders for planning and making improvements to our beautiful community. Please take 10-15 minutes to take this survey and share your thoughts.

-If your zip code is 55009 you can take this survey, you do not have to live in the city limits.

To provide better viewing for the Deck the Falls parade there will be NO PARKING on 4th Street from the stoplights to Mill Street and on Mill Street from 4-way stop to Veteran's Lane.
We know it will be congested downtown, please be patient and kind!
