Message from the Outgoing Director:
Thank you to everyone who supported the libraries in this week’s vote. I started here in 2013 and am finishing up my final directorship in June. The Library vote passed for each year. The support and generosity of our patrons never ceases to amaze me. Our Trustees are all volunteers, and dig into the meat of the matter when issues come up. We actually did an entire memorial tribute, complete with local politicians and dedicating our boulders out front to Dr. Donald Davidsen, all paid for by local donations, and no tax dollars. We enjoy letting our patrons have a say in what we do and who we are. The Canisteo-Greenwood district appears to recognize the value of local libraries to their communities as essential services, however obvious or subtle. The Wimodaughsian Library has contributed to many individuals’ well-being without calling attention to our work, and I am content to know we did good things and that the recipients of our efforts know and appreciate libraries.
As the Library goes on serving the community it is hoped that whoever becomes the new director will enjoy the continued kindness and support of our locals, and can create new memories for children and adults in our school district.

A message from the Library Trustees: After 13 years, our incredible Library Director, Heidi Robinson, has announced her retirement effective June 26, 2026. We are grateful to Heidi for the many ways in which she has strengthened and enriched the library and our community, just as her grandmother did from 1974 to 1991. Under Heidi's stewardship, the Wimodaughsian has been a welcoming gathering place and a core component of our village. We know that will endure.

What's next? The Trustees will soon be posting for the Library Director position. Rest assured that services, including the summer reading program, will continue without interruption during this transition. In the meantime, please join us in offering our heartfelt thanks to Heidi. We wish her much happiness in her next chapter.
