Our Education Outreach staff recently became CPR, First Aid, and Pediatric certified, all in preparation for a safe and fun summer programming season ahead!

A special thank you to the YMCA in Boardman for hosting us, and to Kelsey, Aquatics Supervisor, for being such an incredible instructor. We’re grateful for the knowledge and training that helps keep the children and families we serve safe and supported this summer.

Ever seen this beautiful stained-glass in our Center's lobby? It was created many years ago by artist Daniel Filicky, for a YSU class, to stand as a symbol of our HIV/AIDS Ministry. It continues to be a symbol of light and hope! ❤️🙏🏽

Last week, we had the honor of hosting a very special ceremony with the Nurse Honor Guard of Eastern Ohio to surprise and celebrate one of our USSL residents, Delores. A 1949 graduate of St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, Delores dedicated an incredible 72 years to caring for others. She served in Emergency and Labor & Delivery until her retirement in 1991, then continued her work with Drs. Smith and Malloy and the Red Cross until the age of 90.

Friends, former coworkers, family members, USSL residents, Sisters, and staff gathered to honor her remarkable legacy of compassion, care, and service. What an inspiration! Thank you, Delores, for your lifelong dedication to nursing and to the countless lives you touched along the way.

So much is blooming at the USM offices and Motherhouse! This is--we think--a red buckeye.

Sister Mary Ann Coz, who died in 2023, landscaped much of our grounds. She credited her mother's advice: "Flowers make a house a home." She was also known for creating beautiful crafts.

It's a full circle moment as Sister Mary McCormick steps into the role of Interim Pres. at Ursuline High School. As an alumna, former teacher, and longtime board member, she continues the longstanding relationship between the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown and the school they founded in 1905. She’s pictured here with a group of students who visit the Motherhouse twice each month as part of the “Support Our Sisters” program.
