For 52 years, the Over the Hill Gang Club Children’s Fishing Derby has been part of this spot on Canal Street, creating memories for generations of Canastota families.

After the kids reel in the big one, keep the fun going at Uncle J’s Low Bridge Station!

⚓ Canal Views & Good Company

Some of today’s parents once stood along this canal with a fishing pole in hand. Today, they’re bringing their own kids back to continue the tradition.

A huge thank you to the Over the Hill Gang Club and every volunteer who has helped keep this community tradition alive for more than half a century.

• Erie Canal Locks E‑16 & E‑17
• Erie Canal Locks E‑24 & E‑25
• Cayuga-Seneca Lock CS‑1
• The entire Oswego Canal

These closures are due to high water and dangerous currents. Updates will be shared as conditions change.
