Hola mis amigos, It is with very heavy hearts that we have decided that 2025 is not our year to return to Nicaragua for a Mission trip. After Enrich Missions' permissions were revoked by the government of Nicaragua, things have seemed unsettled. Several veteran Team Members and their families that we rely on for support, do not feel that it is safe for us to travel to Nicaragua at this time and we respect and understand this reluctance. Despite hours of time and effort, Greg and I have not been able to recruit enough docs (doctors, PAs, NPs) to hold clinics.
Several Mission trips ago, our Team was summoned to the middle of a tiny community after our clinic to receive thanks and blessings from the tiny elderly mayor of that village. (Remember her? I think she was 4'4" tall and about a hundred years old!) I remember her saying that the people of Nicaragua and the generous loving people of Central New York were like the children of parents in the middle of a divorce. Our governments are like the bitter angry parents who can't get along or do things right for the benefit of the children. Unfortunately, her perfect analogy lives on.
We will continue in our fundraising efforts and support of Enrich Missions. And we pray fervently that God will unravel the tangles that we do not understand, that our generosity and love will be used by God in His ways, in His time.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
Con el amor de Cristo,
