Senior English students are getting ready for their LAST big project: The Passion Project!
Students pick a book based on one of their passions. Afterward, they create a project that showcases their understanding of the book, using that passion to bring their ideas to life.
To get started, students participated in a book tasting. CWHS LLC Specialist Mrs. Lisa Colahan pulled books based on a variety of passions, helping students explore and find the right fit.

Today, our jazz students had an incredible opportunity to attend the Jazz and World Music Festival Student Experience Day at Capital University!

Students enjoyed performances by university ensembles, including a featured set by guest artist and Ohio native Sean Jones, an internationally recognized jazz trumpeter, Grammy winner, composer, and educator known for his work with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

They also participated in a masterclass with Mr. Jones, who shared how jazz improvisation is inspired by and reflects life itself.

What an amazing experience for our student musicians!

March Madness made its way into CW classrooms! 🏀
At Indian Trail Elementary, second-grade students voted on their favorite picture books in a bracket-style competition to determine a champion, and brought basketball into their math lessons along the way.
At CWMS, Mrs. Booher and Mrs. Maksim from the LLC hosted a literary-themed jersey decorating challenge and are wrapping up their annual Library March Madness competition, featuring sixteen books. It’s down to the final matchup between Among the Hidden and The Hunger Games. Which one gets your vote? 📖

Spring at Canal Wi******er Schools is full of fun traditions and big milestones, and this week was a special one for our 5th graders at Wi******er Trail Elementary! 🎶

Students had the chance to try out instruments they can play in the Canal Wi******er Middle School Band, an exciting first step as they start thinking about middle school and all the opportunities ahead.

Canal Wi******er's IEC Electrician Pre-Apprentices completed their program last Friday! Through 150 hours of training, students received NCCER credentials, OSHA-10 certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and aerial lift certification. One of our students achieved perfect attendance during the program, and several students have already received job offers to continue their electrician apprenticeship journey. We are so proud of these students and the bright futures ahead of them!
