Last evening, Officer Colton Jack responded to a report of a kitchen fire at a residence on Canaan Street.

Officer Jack observed that the fire had begun to spread throughout the kitchen area. He had to force entry into the home and was able to extinguish the fire enough to allow additional fire personnel to arrive.

Officer Jack and one occupant of the home were later transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for evaluation due to smoke inhalation. Officer Jack was treated and released after several hours of observation.

We sincerely thank and appreciate all responding agencies for their professionalism and fast responses.
