The Town of Campobello and the Campobello Police Department have been made aware of a scam involving an individual falsely claiming to be a Campobello Police Officer.

The scammer is spoofing the Town Hall phone number (864-468-4545) and calling residents, claiming they have outstanding warrants and must make immediate payment using gift cards to avoid arrest.

⚠️ THIS IS A SCAM. ⚠️

Please remember:

✅ Police Departments will never demand payment over the phone for warrants, fines, or court matters.

✅ Law enforcement will never ask you to pay with gift cards, prepaid debit cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers.

✅ Do not provide personal, financial, or banking information to unsolicited callers.

✅ If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately.
