The lake is situated in Adair and Taylor counties, lying amidst rolling terrain, steep bluffs and flowing streams in the section of Kentucky known as the Highland Rim. The dam, located on the Green River, is an 11 mile drive from the cities of Campbellsville and Columbia, and less than 100 miles from Louisville and Lexington. The 8,210 acre Green River Lake and surrounding area offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. The Corps, in cooperation with the Commonwealth of Kentucky manages the land and water for wildlife, fisheries and recreation.

The 2026 Fishing With a Veteran event is coming to Green River Lake on Sat., Oct. 3, and we're looking for volunteer boat captains to help make this special day possible!

Pre-registration is required by Sept. 30, and lunch will be provided by the Friends of Green River Lake.

The annual Waterfowl Hunting Blind Drawing at Green River Lake is set for Sat., Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. ET at the Green River Lake Visitor Center.

Registration is required and begins at 9 a.m. ET.

Hunters participating in the drawing must:
πŸ¦† Be at least 18 years old
🎫 Bring a valid Hunting License, Migratory Bird Permit and Federal Duck Stamp
πŸ”’ Provide their HIP survey number
πŸ“š Provide proof of hunter education if born after 1974

πŸ“’ Make sure you have all required documentation with you when you arrive!

🚧 Temporary Closure – Green River Lake Visitor Center 🚧

The Green River Lake Corps of Engineers Visitor Center and Office will be temporarily closed next Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 14–16 while crews seal and stripe the surrounding parking lot.

The office and Visitor Center are expected to reopen Sept. 17.

If you're traveling along Lake Road, which crosses the dam and d**e, please use caution. Crews will also be sealing and striping the small parking lots at each end of the dam and d**e during the same week.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this maintenance work!
