Celebrating Student Voice at the State Level
Campbell City Schools is proud to recognize two outstanding students from the Northeast Ohio IMPACT Academy, our STEM school, who continue to represent our community at the highest level.
Senior Isaiah Santiago and sophomore Kamillie Truslow recently presented on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Whole Child Advisory Group meeting in Columbus. Throughout this past year, Isaiah and Kamillie have served as 2 of just 27 students statewide on the Student Voice Committee, offering meaningful feedback and insight to state leaders.
At the meeting, they were selected as 1 of only 8 groups to present, sharing their innovative project:
Intergenerational Skills Exchange
A forward thinking initiative designed to connect youth and older adults through shared learning. Their vision is simple yet powerful, creating opportunities for generations to learn from one another. Older adults bring valuable life experience and practical skills, while students offer strong technological knowledge and fresh academic perspectives. Through workshops and collaboration, their goal is to strengthen relationships, build understanding, and create a stronger community for all.
Their work reflects not only creativity and leadership, but a deep commitment to service and connection.
Superintendent Matthew Bowen, who accompanied the students to Columbus, shared:
“We are incredibly proud of Isaiah and Kamillie. They represented our Campbell community the right way, with confidence, respect, and a real sense of purpose. It was great to see them share their ideas and connect with others across the state.”
Isaiah and Kamillie, thank you for your leadership, your voice, and the example you set for others. Your futures are bright, and we are proud to have you represent Campbell.
