Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office Participates in Statewide Saturation Saturday

On August 29, 2026, seven deputies with the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office participated in Saturation Saturday, a statewide traffic enforcement initiative sponsored by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and funded through a traffic enforcement grant.

Due to the six traffic fatalities that have occurred on Highway 412 this year, deputies focused a large portion of their enforcement efforts on the Highway 412 corridor. The goal of the operation was to promote safe driving, reduce dangerous driving behaviors, and help prevent additional tragedies on our roadways.

During the six-hour enforcement operation, deputies made a total of 65 traffic stops, resulting in:

• 4 citations issued
• 64 warnings issued
• 2 warrant arrests
• 1 DWI arrest

The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to making the roads of Dunklin County safer for everyone. Traffic enforcement efforts such as Saturation Saturday are an important part of our continued effort to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

We appreciate the hard work of the seven deputies who participated in this operation and thank the community for doing their part to help keep our roadways safe.

Parents — your kids don’t need Snapchat.

Not in junior high. And in many cases, not even in high school.

A large number of the cases we work involving juveniles and social media have one thing in common: Snapchat. Disappearing messages can give kids a false sense of security, but screenshots get taken, pictures get saved, and private conversations can quickly become very public.

Bullying, threats, inappropriate pictures, harassment, and dangerous conversations can have consequences that last much longer than a Snap.

Know what apps your kids are using. Talk to them. Check their phones. Set boundaries.

They may not like it today, but protecting them is more important than being the “cool” parent.

Your kids don’t need Snapchat. They need you looking out for them.

2026 Missouri Peach Fair Recap

Thank you to everyone that came by and supported us this year. This year was the year of constant issues with help, supplies, and everything else that you can imagine.
