It was not an easy challenge to figure out how to coil build a form that as far as I know is normally cast in a mould but I found a way! This piece is commissioned by a local as a Christmas present for his wife and will be finished Santa Clara Black on black style. It's about 12" long, about 9" tall and 3" wide. After firing it will be able to be displayed standing on it's "legs". I will be building a second that will be decorated salado style as well because the guy wasn't totally sure what he wanted...

Trying something a little different this time, salado style firing but with four colors. Any guesses on what color this grey body clay fires? Hint: it was collected near Cameron Arizona...
