Camp Meeker Recreation & Park District Our purpose is to organize, promote & conduct programs of community recreation including Parks & open space & related services to improve community life.

The Camp Meeker Recreation and Park District is an independent California Special District organized in 1931 under the California Public Resources Code, Div. 5, Chapter 4, Section 5780 (et seq). The District’s purpose is to organize, promote, and conduct programs of community recreation including parks and open space, and other related services that improve the community’s quality of life. The District’s areas of operation include Anderson Hall and related areas; Dutch Bill Creek beach (and areas adjacent to it) and the parking area; the Post Office trailer site; the District’s “office” and basketball court; Fire station land and other parcels. The District was authorized to operate a “county water district” under provision 5787.22 in April 1994; and, LAFCO Resolution 2339 gave the District authority to develop and operate a wastewater system in August 1999. From time to time a sub-committee consisting of two Camp Meeker and two Occidental board members meet to discuss mutual concerns.

Join us for the CMRPD Board meeting on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:00 p.m. at Anderson Hall or on Zoom!

Topics include the final FY 2026–2027 budget, funding for improvements and public access at the Camp Meeker Forest Open Space Preserve, new water-payment options, parking easements, and unauthorized camping concerns.

Joint Powers Advisory Committee Meeting – September 14

Camp Meeker Recreation and Park District and Occidental Community Services District will hold a special Joint Powers Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Anderson Hall.

The Committee will meet with Brelje & Race and Russian River Utility to discuss proposed improvements to the Morelli, Baumert, and Tower water storage tanks, including project priorities, costs, next steps, and cost sharing between the two districts. The Committee may develop recommendations to bring back to the CMRPD and OCSD Boards for consideration.

The meeting is open to the public.
