πŸ₯›πŸ„ No whey! It's National Dairy Month already? πŸ„πŸ₯›

June is National Dairy Month, a time to recognize the important role dairy farmers play in providing nutritious foods and supporting local communities.

Did you know?
β€’ Pennsylvania ranks among the top dairy-producing states in the nation.
β€’ A single dairy cow can produce an average of 6–7 gallons of milk each day.
β€’ Dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt provide essential nutrients including calcium, protein, vitamin D, and potassium.

From caring for their herds to managing crops that feed their animals, dairy farmers work year-round to bring wholesome dairy products from farm to table.

This month, join us in celebrating the hardworking dairy farmers who help nourish our communities and strengthen Pennsylvania agriculture.

πŸ₯› What's your favorite dairy product?

πŸ›οΈ A Day at the Capitol! 🌾
This past Wednesday, our Foundation interns, Charley Kramer and Sarah Beaver, had the opportunity to visit the Pennsylvania State Capitol for a day of learning, networking, and professional development.
During their visit, they toured the Capitol, observed various meetings and conferences taking place throughout the building, and met with members of the House Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee to learn more about agricultural policy and legislative processes in Pennsylvania.
Charley and Sarah were joined by fellow interns from PennAg Industries Association, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and Farm Credit, making it a great opportunity to connect with other young professionals interested in agriculture and public policy.
This was a fun and valuable experience that provided insight into how decisions impacting Pennsylvania agriculture are made and discussed.
A special thank you to Chris Herr of PennAg Industries Association for organizing the visit and giving our interns the opportunity to experience a day at the Capitol!

πŸ“πŸŒ± What's In Season in Pennsylvania? πŸŒ±πŸ“

June is bursting with fresh, locally grown produce! This month, keep an eye out for:

πŸ“ Strawberries
🌿 Asparagus
πŸ₯¬ Spinach
πŸ₯— Lettuce
πŸ₯¬ Kale
πŸ₯¦ Broccoli
πŸ«› Peas
πŸ§… Green Onions (Scallions)
🌱 Radishes

Thank you to everyone who made the PA Friends of Agriculture Foundation Golf Classic a tremendous success! β›³πŸŒ±

We are grateful to our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who spent the day with us and invested in the future of agricultural education. Because of your support, thousands of students will have the opportunity to discover where their food, fiber, and fuel come from and explore the many career opportunities available in agriculture.

Thank you for helping us drive agricultural literacy forwardβ€”one swing at a time! πŸšœπŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ

Foundation Chair Chris Hoffman isn't just driving support for agricultural educationβ€”he's driving it down the fairway too! β›³πŸšœ

Watch as Chris takes on the course at the PA Friends of Agriculture Foundation Golf Classic. Every swing helps support programs that connect students with the story of agriculture across Pennsylvania.
