Today was a memorable day for the 128th Air Control Squadron as we welcomed our new Commander, Lt Col Kalen Stoddard, and bid farewell to Lt Col Shonn Breton.
Lt Col Stoddard brings over 17 years of distinguished service as an Air Battle Manager since receiving his commission from the University of North Dakota ROTC program in 2008. He began his career on Active Duty and then joined the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 2016. He is already an asset to the 128th, maintaining his qualification as an Instructor Air Battle Manager with the squadron. He previously served as the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff for Volk Field ANGB and the Commander of the 126 Combat Weather Flight. We are excited to see the great things that will continue at the 128th Air Control Squadron under Lt Col Stoddard's leadership.
Lt Col Breton began his journey with the United States Air Force on December 16, 1987. Over the past nearly four decades, he has served honorably across the active duty Air Force, the Connecticut Air National Guard, and the Wisconsin Air National Guard. His distinguished career includes numerous deployments in support of Operations ALLIED FORCE, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, FREEDOM SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE, the COMBINED DEFENSE OF THE ARABIAN PENINSULA, and a Counterdrug Task Force.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Lt Col Breton for 38 years of exceptional commitment, leadership, and selfless service to our state and nation. Please join us in congratulating Lt Col Breton on this significant milestone and wishing him all the very best as he prepares for a well deserved retirement and embarks on his next chapter.
