The Mitchell County Parks & Recreation Department would like to invite all citizens of Mitchell County to come out and participate in our upcoming Pickleball Day! Whether you’re young or old, experienced or brand new to the game, everyone is welcome to join the fun.

Come enjoy great competition, laughs, fellowship, and a day full of community fun on the court! More details will be announced soon—we can’t wait to see everyone out there! 💙🏓

We will have a Pickleball Ambassador from Atlanta, GA in attendance to go over the official game rules and answer any questions you may have about pickleball.

Yesterday, December 30, 2025, Mitchell County Board of Commissioners celebrated the retirement of CFO Jerry Permenter.

The Mitchell County Board of Commissioners will be hosting a drop-in Retirement celebration for Mr. Jerry Permenter this Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, at the Mitchell County Commissioner Meeting room. The event is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. We hope you will drop in and wish him well in his retirement.
