About the SMART Grants Program

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law established the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grants Program for smart community technology demonstrations. The SMART Grants Program funds projects that focus on using technology interventions to solve real-world challenges facing communities, always with a focus on purpose-driven innovation and supporting technologies that provide clear, near-term benefits. SMART will provide funding for approximately 20 to 30 Stage 1 projects in FY 2023, up to $2 million per project.
