What makes Eldon special?
What makes the City of Eldon special is the businesses, leadership, community support, events, and activities for all ages and families, and the coming together when times are tough. Once you get out and become part of the community, you'll find that the City of Eldon is a great place to live and be a part of.
Where is your favorite spot in Eldon? Why?
My favorite spot in Eldon would be multiple places, but the one that sticks out the most would be Rock Island Park. I love taking my kids there and watching my oldest run with the biggest smile as she plays with all the playground equipment.
What's your favorite event in Eldon? Why?
My favorite event in Eldon is anything with a parade in it. My daughter loves the parades, and I enjoy all the candy she collects, but if I had to pick one event, it would be the Turkey Festival.
What's your favorite memory of Eldon from growing up?
My favorite memories growing up in Eldon would be playing baseball in the Eldon Park and Rec league. The atmosphere was great, and the competition built friendships, which would later turn into working as a team as we made it to high school, as well as making side bets with the umpire for a chili dog from the Cree Mee.
Where do you see Eldon in five years?
I see the City of Eldon being a prominent community that will lead the way in business development and retention, housing development, and excellent quality of life that you will not find in the surrounding communities in the Lake of the Ozark Region.
Why did you move to Eldon, and what would you tell families thinking about moving here?
Once my wife and I married, moving to Eldon felt like the best choice since she was teaching at Eldon South Elementary, and I had been a part of the community since childhood. I would tell families considering moving to Eldon that the city has many options and opportunities for their family or business to grow. Geographically, the City of Eldon is located in the best spot being only 10 minutes away from the Lake of the Ozark and 30 minutes from the state capital.
If I've never been to Eldon, what's the first place I should check out?
If I've never been to Eldon, the first place I would check out would be the Ice Cream Factory, but after dinner at Whittles, I would probably explore the downtown to see what is there.
