Jackson School

Jackson School Jackson School, located in the Kershaw County School District, serves 4K-5th grade students. The "green" features in the school are countless.

Jackson School is the first school in the county to pursue leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED Certification). Jackson School is the first Gold Certified LEED school in the state. To become LEED certified, buildings are awarded points based on anything that would make a building "green", which includes water conservation, air quality, waste, construction, energy use, etc. This year

, Jackson is starting a new journey implementing the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, using the books the Leader in Me and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The 7 Habits that we are all using in our lives are:
1) Be Proactive: You are responsible for yourself.
2) Begin with the End in Mind: Have a plan
3) Put First Things First: Work first, play later.
4) Think Win/Win: Everyone can win.
5) Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listen before you talk.
6) Synnergize: Together is better.
7) Sharpen the Saw: Balance is best.

One of our favorite days at Jackson School is right around the corner—Grandparents Day! 💕
We can’t wait to welcome our wonderful grandparents for breakfast on September 17 & 18. Be on the lookout for the registration flyer coming home with your student—registration forms are due by September 11!

And there’s even more to look forward to—our Book Fair will be at Jackson School during Grandparents Day, so grandparents can stop by the library and shop with their Jackson Bears after breakfast! 📚💙

Just a reminder, Jackson families! 🐻💙 Parent-Teacher Conferences are this week: Thursday from 3:00–7:00 PM and Friday from 8:00–11:00 AM.

Please remember that there will be NO SCHOOL for students on Friday.
There will also be NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and that's why we are challenging students to keep their attendance streak strong!

Every single day students show up to class, they keep their streak going—unlocking new skills, connecting with friends, and leveling up for the future. Missing just a few days can throw off a student's rhythm, but showing up every day keeps their momentum strong.

School is better when all students are here! Let’s see how long students across our district can keep their streaks alive this September!

Our 5th graders have been studying physical and chemical changes, so what better way to see a chemical change in action than with Elephant Toothpaste! 🧪🐘 They combined hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, food coloring, warm water, and yeast and watched the reaction come to life! Science is definitely more fun when it gets a little messy! 🤩🔬🐻
