Jackson School

Jackson School Jackson School, located in the Kershaw County School District, serves 4K-5th grade students. The "green" features in the school are countless.

Jackson School is the first school in the county to pursue leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED Certification). Jackson School is the first Gold Certified LEED school in the state. To become LEED certified, buildings are awarded points based on anything that would make a building "green", which includes water conservation, air quality, waste, construction, energy use, etc. This year

, Jackson is starting a new journey implementing the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, using the books the Leader in Me and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The 7 Habits that we are all using in our lives are:
1) Be Proactive: You are responsible for yourself.
2) Begin with the End in Mind: Have a plan
3) Put First Things First: Work first, play later.
4) Think Win/Win: Everyone can win.
5) Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listen before you talk.

7) Sharpen the Saw: Balance is best.

Summer Health and Meals — All in One Stop! 🩺🍎

We are thrilled to partner with Sandhills Medical this summer to bring quality healthcare directly to our community, right alongside our Summer Meals program! While you're stopping by to grab summer meals, you can also take care of your family’s healthcare needs.

Starting this week at Blaney Elementary School! We plan to add this service at Camden High and North Central Middle soon! 📍
📌 When: Mondays and Wednesdays
📌 Time: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
📌 Where: Blaney Elementary School
📌 Who: Walk-ins are WELCOME! 👋

2026 Summer Meal Program Schedule 🍽️

Also, don't forget, in partnership with the United Way of Kershaw County, our Summer Meals program will continue to run from June 1 through July 17, 2026, Monday – Thursday each week (all locations will be closed on Thursday, July 2.)

Children aged 18 and under (who are not enrolled in another program) may eat directly in the school cafeterias during the following daily mealtimes:
📌 Breakfast Service: 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
📌 Lunch Service:: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
📌 Breakfast and lunch will be served daily at all sites.

🚨 SRO and Officer Training at Jackson School this week

All this week, Response to Active Intruder training is taking place at Jackson School.
Kershaw County School District School Resource Officers, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, and officers from the Town of Elgin are participating in this important safety training.

We are grateful for the continued partnership of our local law enforcement agencies as they work together to support safety and preparedness across our community.

The Kershaw County School District, in partnership with the United Way of Kershaw County, will provide free summer meals for children 18 and under from June 1 – July 17, 2026, Monday–Thursday (closed July 2). Breakfast will be served from 7:00–8:30 AM and lunch from 10:00–11:30 AM at Blaney Elementary School, Camden High School, and North Central Middle School. Community organizations interested in hosting a summer meal site may contact Donny Supplee at [email protected] or Nikki Elmore at [email protected].
