The Benton County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) had been approved for a grant from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) Ag Resources Conservation Fund to assist landowners who install Best Management Practices in certain watersheds of Benton County for FY 2026. Guidelines are set by TDA on how the cost share money is implemented. BMP's such as Cover Crop, Grade Control Structures, Water and Sediment Control Basins, Livestock Watering Facilities, Cross Fencing, etc. are some of the practices eligible for cost-share assistance. Sign up this year will be from Julu\y 21 through August 1. For more information, contact the Benton County SWCD at (731) 584-8125, ext 3.

BENTON COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT is taking applications for cooperators to put Best Management Practices on the ground with a grant from TDA. Sign ups will be fromJuly 1 through July 27. There are guidelines to be eligible for these practices. There are many practices available through this grant, including cropland conversion, cover crop, alternative water sources and many others. The Benton County SWCD will have a supervisor election, Tuesday, February 20. The election will be held in the conference room of the USDA Service Center from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The address for the USDA Service Center is 205 Highway 641-North, Camden. Tennessee, 38320.

If you are a livestock producer in BENTON County and you have not signed up for the Livestock Forage Program (drought assistance) please at the very least call the FSA office before JANUARY 30 @ 731-584-8186 ext 2. We do not want you to miss out!
NOTE: HENRY County did NOT qualify for 2023.
