Attendance in Action at Veterans Memorial Family School!

Superintendent Llano stopped by Veterans Memorial Family School today, where Mrs. Cuevas, Bilingual Math Teacher, and Mrs. Carrion, Spanish Literacy Teacher, shared their school’s attendance rollout with the Superintendent and staff.

Their presentation focused on making attendance more than just a number — connecting it to learning, relationships, academic progress and student success.

We’re excited to see our schools bringing our districtwide attendance focus to life in ways that engage both students and staff. ❤️

Investing in Camden’s Future!

Superintendent Alfonso Q. Llano Jr. and Alternative Education Director Mr. Tim Jenkins were proud to attend the Camden Schools Foundation’s 21st Annual Golf Tournament and Scholarship Fundraiser today.

A special thank you to the Camden Schools Foundation, its sponsors, partners, golfers and supporters who made this annual event possible. The funds raised through this event will help provide scholarships for current Camden City School District seniors as they prepare for their next chapter after graduation.

We are grateful for partners who continue to invest in our students and help create opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Your support makes a meaningful difference for our students and their futures.

CCSD Gives Back to Morgan Village!

A special thank you to Mayor Victor Carstarphen and the City of Camden for inviting Camden City School District to participate in today’s Morgan Village Community Cleanup!

Our Central Office team joined students and staff from RISE/STAR Academy to roll up our sleeves and help clean and beautify the Morgan Village neighborhood. It was a great opportunity to work alongside our community, connect with our neighbors and show our students what it means to take pride in the city we call home.

Thank you to everyone who came out and pitched in today. When our schools, city and community come together, we can make a difference!

A strong school year starts with showing up! Each day our students walk through our doors is another opportunity to learn something new, build relationships, discover their talents, and move one step closer to their goals.

We’ve started the year with great energy—now let’s keep it going! Families, thank you for partnering with us by making daily, on-time attendance a priority throughout September and all year long.

One week ago, we came together with one purpose, one energy and one commitment: Students First, Always.

As we enjoy today’s holiday and take a moment to reflect, we’re looking back at our 2026 CCSD Welcome Back Convocation — a powerful reminder of what is possible when we move forward together.

Superintendent Llano challenged us not to let the energy, excitement and sense of purpose we felt that day end when we left the gym. We have to carry it with us — into our schools, our classrooms and every interaction with our students and families.

And that work has already begun. Last week, we opened our doors, welcomed our students back and started writing the story of the 2026–2027 school year.

Tomorrow, we keep going.

Let’s keep the energy high. Keep the light shining. Keep showing up for one another. And most importantly, keep showing up for our students.

Because when you attend, we all win.
