Foster parents are not on this journey alone. 💙

Support is available whenever you need it—whether you’re navigating a challenge, looking for resources, or just need guidance along the way. We encourage current foster caregivers to reach out to their local Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) agency for support, connection, and tools to help you continue your important role.

Strong support leads to stronger retention—and stronger outcomes for children and families across Ohio.

It’s best for children with significant behavioral health needs to grow and heal in a family setting rather than in a group home or residential facility. Treatment foster families receive specialized training, 24/7 on-call support, and crisis counseling to help them provide the stability and care all children need and deserve.

Did you know children in Ohio can receive one free book every month from birth until age five through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio?

This free program helps build early literacy skills during the most important years of brain development—especially in the earliest years of life, when foundational learning takes place.

Books are mailed directly to your child, helping families build a lifelong love of reading right at home.

📬 How to sign up: Any child in Ohio, birth to age five, is eligible.
Start here: ohioimaginationlibrary.org

After each book arrives, take time to read together, talk about the story, and explore the pictures—small moments that make a big impact.
