ONE LANE CLOSURE - TEMPORARY

MAPLE DAM ROAD: PAVING PROJECT

The public is advised that paving work will take place from Wednesday, June 24, 2026, through Friday, June 26, 2026, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.

The paving project will extend from Shorter Wharf Bridge and continue approximately one mile north along Maple Dam Road. The affected section of roadway is highlighted on the map below.

During this time, the roadway will remain open; however, traffic will be reduced to a single lane with traffic control personnel and flagging operations in place. Motorists should expect minor delays and are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signage, and obey directions from flagging personnel while traveling through the work zone.

Tentative centerline striping is also scheduled for Monday, June 29, 2026, weather and project conditions permitting.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as these roadway improvements are completed.

In observance of Juneteenth, Dorchester County offices, including the Department of Solid Waste, are closed today, June 19, 2026.

This closure includes the Beulah Landfill, transfer stations, and recycling centers. The self-service Hurlock Recycling Center will remain open.

All offices will reopen on Monday, June 22, 2026.
