Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten. As we remember their legacy, may we carry forward the values they fought to protect with gratitude and respect.

Re: Public Notice Clarification

The public dock and bulkhead rules themselves have been in place since March 7, 2000. This Bill amendment only changes the enforcement authority by allowing the County to use an authorized towing contractor when existing rules are violated.

After the public notice of the changes to the bill, I realized I misinterpreted the provision associated with “seafood.” As such, public fishing and crabbing are allowed.

The goal of the amendment is to keep the bulkhead open and usable for the public as intended. There have been ongoing situations where obstructions and long-term use have made parts of the bulkhead unavailable to the general public.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.
