🚲 Heads up, cyclists: A portion of the Kittie Knox Bike Path will temporarily close next week.

The portion of the Kittie Knox Bike Path next to 105 Broadway will be closed to bikes from August 19 through August 26 to remove construction trailers between 105 Broadway and 115 Broadway. A new public open space will be constructed between these buildings in the near future.

Police detail and detour signs will be in place directing bicyclists to dismount and use alternate routes. The segment of the Kittie Knox Bike Path adjacent to 105 Broadway is set to reopen by August 27.

There’s a lot happening beneath Kendall Square, more than 100 feet beneath the surface, to be exact. ⚡️

A new underground electrical substation is taking shape as part of the Greater Cambridge Energy Program, a major infrastructure project designed to increase the capacity and reliability of Cambridge’s electrical grid and support the city’s future electrification needs.

The project will also make room for what will eventually be a new public park and residential development above the substation.

Learn more about this major project and what’s happening beneath Kendall Square in Cambridge Day’s latest article: https://www.cambridgeday.com/2026/07/29/electrifying-cambridge-from-underground/

A home for the country’s largest underground substation is nearly complete, but much work is still to come

Outside of the CRA and the GSD, Vishal enjoys attending concerts and discovering live music around the city. Originally from New York, he also spent his undergraduate years in Boston at Northeastern University.

We've enjoyed having Vishal as part of the CRA team so far this summer and look forward to the contributions he'll continue to make throughout his internship.
