Hello, Cambridge, Maryland! Galveston Historical Foundation's 1877 ELISSA is at Cambridge Yacht Basin this weekend with FREE public tours scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from noon to five pm. BREAKING NEWS! We've just learned that the 1877 tall ship Elissa is stopping in Cambridge this weekend, June 20-21, and they're offering free deck tours! The Elissa is scheduled to arrive around 8am on Saturday and depart the morning of Tuesday, June 23. Deck tours are 12-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

**UPDATE: Head to Sailwinds Park at Cambridge Harbor (near 200 Byrn St., Cambridge, MD) for a look at this rare and amazing ship! Spread the word!

The Elissa is on its way to New York to join the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships from around the world for a universal celebration of America's 250th anniversary on July 4.

Here's a little more of the back story: Galveston Historical Foundation brought ELISSA, an 1877 square-rigged iron barque, from a scrapyard in Piraeus Harbor, Greece to Galveston to begin restoration work in 1978. By 1982, GHF staff and volunteers completed restoration and transformed this rare, historic vessel into a floating museum that would actively sail.

Follow her travels at Galveston 250.
