As we round the corner of summer which is (to some) unfortunately coming to an end. We admire and reflect on the accomplishments we have achieved in the past school year whether it be racial/religious diversity, meeting new friends, jumping over new challenges to reach your goal. We look at how we can go forth and better yet, improve ourselves. At Putnam Avenue Upper School, we will be having a staff change (As known not final), the following will be leaving; Mr. Newman Gr. 6, Ms. Webster Gr. 7, and Mr. Thompson. This page is looking for volunteers, please comment of message the page for details! Thank you, Putnam Avenue Upper School page team.

Majority of the Admins on this page were eighth grade students. Since they have graduated, there are spots for people to fill if they want to admin.

We are looking for two responsible incoming eighth grade admins and two incoming seventh grade admins. Please inbox this page explaining why you would like to admin and why you are trustworthy enough to take on this task. Those who answer with the best answers will be admins.

Thanks!

This is a letter written by a Vassal Lane parent. PLEASE READ IT AND COME TO THE MEETING IF YOU ARE DISLIKING THE UPPER CAMPUS/FEEL THAT THE SUPERINTENDENT HASN'T DONE WHAT HE HAS PROMISED.
ISP people especially should read this.
Here is a link to a report to CPS administration -- it is found on the school committee page of the CPSD website -- top right "Middle Grades Instruction in Nine Cambridge Public Schools: A Report by Nancy Brigham Associates" http://www3.cpsd.us/media/network/10516/media/CPS%20Redesign/documents/SchoolCommittee/MIDDLE_GRADES_ STUDY_NBA.pdf?rev=0

PLEASE read it -- or at least the summary (which is a fictionalized composite of a student named Max). There are certainly strengths and strong reasons to remain optimistic, however, the overall picture is not good. My concern is primarily that IF parents and kids who are in the NEW middle grades in Cambridge aren't there to suggest that Max's situation HAS NOT CHANGED even with the gigantic restructuring and all the promises that are the Innovation Agenda, the CPS administration will tell the tale that the report details the conditions BEFORE the IA and so we can all breathe a big sigh that we've accomplished the IA because now things are better. We need to tell them (School Committee) that things are not better yet.

AND THEN -- please come to the regularly scheduled School Committee Meeting 6:00 PM, TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2013, IN THE DR. HENRIETTA S. ATTLES MEETING ROOM, CAMBRIDGE RINDGE AND LATIN SCHOOL, 459 BROADWAY, CAMBRIDGE.

FINALLY -- please distribute this, reach out to people who have direct experience - ask them to write to school committee or come to the meeting.
