The Cambridge City Police Department is currently accepting applications for 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫.

We are a small town police department that takes pride in knowing our community, building relationships, and serving the people who call Cambridge City home.

We are especially encouraging 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝟏 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝟐 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (or equivalent) to apply. Applicants who have successfully completed the academy will be waived from the physical agility test.

We are so grateful.

Thank you to everyone who brought food, water, cleaning supplies, and so many other items to help our neighbors after the flood. Churches, businesses, families, and people we may never meet showed up with generous hearts, and it made a real difference.

We are no longer accepting donated items.

Please do not drop off additional food, water, supplies, or other goods. If that changes, we will let you know here on Facebook.

We are still accepting financial donations to the church flood relief fund. You can do that at: https://4c.churchcenter.com/giving.

Those gifts help with remaining needs as families continue to recover.

The last few weeks have given us a glimpse of how different Cambridge City feels when the doors of our local businesses suddenly can’t open.

We feel that loss as a community, too.

Several of our local businesses are still working to get back on their feet after the flood, and supporting them is one part of Cambridge City’s larger recovery.

These businesses employ our neighbors, provide goods and services to our residents, and bring people into town who support our local economy.

And tonight, we get to come together for them.

See familiar faces, enjoy some great music, support our local businesses, and feel that energy you only get when a community shows up for each other.

Every dollar collected will go to local businesses impacted by the flood.

The Richmond Police Department is attempting to locate David Darling, who is reported missing. Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in locating him and would like to speak with him as soon as possible.

Wayne County residents impacted by the recent flooding will have an opportunity to meet in person with FEMA representatives to ask questions and receive help applying for federal disaster assistance.

FEMA Intake Centers will be available September 2–5.

Residents are encouraged to bring:

• Photo identification
• Proof of address
• Insurance information, if available
• Photos of disaster-related damage
• Bank account information for direct deposit, if desired

You do not have to wait for the Intake Center to apply.

Residents may also apply for FEMA disaster assistance online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 711).
