Join the Camas-Washougal Fire Department and East County Fire & Rescue tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 @ 7:15 a.m., for the 25th anniversary memorial ceremony to commemorate the emergency responders who lost their lives on 9/11. The event will take place in front of the Camas Public Library downtown. The ceremony will commence at 7:28, but the public should arrive at 7:15.

Camas Car Show Canceled Due to Weather

We are disappointed to share that the 2026 Camas Car Show has been canceled due to the forecast for rain and cold temperatures.

This was a tough decision! Before making the call, we reached out to past Camas Car Show attendees to get their input on whether they would still attend with the predicted weather. The overwhelming consensus was that the event would not be as successful or enjoyable under these conditions.

We know how much our community looks forward to this event, and we are just as disappointed not to see all of the incredible cars, trucks and motorcycles gathered downtown. We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their feedback and everyone who planned on joining us this year.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of the Camas Car Show and Downtown Camas. We hope to see you all back downtown for the Car Show in 2027!

Our annual Scary Story Writing Contest is back! Kids in grades 3-12 are invited to participate, with entry forms becoming available starting today! This year, winners will have the unique opportunity to have their story posted at a local business in downtown as part of our "Scary Story Walk" in October.

Rules:
* The stories must be your own original written work.
* Stories must be 500 words or less.
* Your story must be turned in online or in person at the front desk by the deadline: Saturday, October 10 at 6 p.m.
