🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, a building collapsed at 501 Main Street in Calvert. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

⚠️ Main Street from Highway 6 through Mitchell Street to Cedar Street is CLOSED until further notice.

Please avoid the area, use alternate routes, and allow emergency personnel room to work safely.

Robertson County will be experiencing extreme temperatures over the next 10 days or so, and we encourage everyone to begin making plans now to stay safe.

If you know you may have difficulty maintaining a safe temperature inside your home, please make arrangements with family or friends to relocate temporarily until conditions improve. Don’t wait until your home becomes dangerously hot to make a plan.

We also ask everyone to check on family members, friends, neighbors, and others who may be especially vulnerable to extreme heat. A phone call or quick visit could make a big difference. Make sure they have adequate air conditioning, plenty of water, and a safe place to go if needed.

And remember—outdoor pets are family too. Make sure they have plenty of fresh water, shade, and a way to escape the extreme heat. If possible, bring them into a cooler environment during the hottest part of the day.

Plan ahead. Check on each other. Stay Hydrated, Stay Safe, and Stay Blessed!

As of August 10, 2026 Robertson County is under a burn ban. No outdoor burning is permitted at this time.

We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to the entities of Robertson and Brazos counties who worked together today to locate a lost person North of Calvert. The person was located and is safe. No injuries were reported. The entities who responded to assist were:
