Hi Friends,

Proposed amendments to the Town of Delaware Zoning law include a noise section that drastically weakens the town's noise law. The proposed new noise section allows a maximum noise level that is four times as loud as the existing maximum. We need stronger, not weaker protection from noise pollution.

That's why I signed a petition to Town of Delaware NY Town Board, which says:

"We, residents, taxpayers and business owners of the town of Delaware ask our town board to delete the new Noise section, s 605.5, and all other new noise rules from the proposed amendments to the zoning law. We further ask the town to develop a comprehensive, careful and strong noise ordinance that provides enforceable legal protection against noise pollution."

Hello Delaware Dems - Today's meeting w/ David Slottje was fantastic. He reccommended I revise the petition - it was too long and to aggresive - he gave some pointers. I'll work on a new one and will have him look it over before I post it and put it on the petition site; sorry for the inconveinence but it needs to be in a more "friendly" tone.

We are signing this Peition because a majority of the residents residing in The Town of Delaware in Sullivan County, New York do not want Hydro-Fracking in our town to commence. We are petitioning the Board to either Ban Fracking or to Create Zoning to protect it's citizens from the harmful health & environmental damage it causes, including fumes, noise, fires, explosions and well water contamination. We believe the residents deserve our basic human right to have clean air to breath andclean potable water to drink.
We have a "do nothing" Town Board and we demand they show true leadership and governance by adopting a zoning plan or a ban on Hydro-Fracking all together.
