The Bridegroom

Wrapping gifts for both new babies and a new bride, I couldn’t help but smile as I folded and taped the paper. New is so exciting!
The anticipation of a new baby or a new life partner fills your heart and mind. All the ways to love this new gift of a person seem limitless. You feel like a lifetime will never be enough to get to know them fully.
In my mind, that is how I imagine the disciples must have felt. They watch this man who has brought so much to their lives, as he fills them with new knowledge, new experiences, and new lives. Could there ever be enough time to walk beside and grow with this man?
New and nurturing relationships of any kind, bring so much to our lives. We are eager to spend time with new friends and get to know them. As we invest in our friends, our partners, our children, and our God… the return is personal growth and love.
A life with Christ is a commitment to walk together through the good and the bad. It’s a relationship that grows if it is nurtured, and fades if it is neglected . He is a friend, a parent, and a partner who will stay. Celebrate the anticipation of what a life with him can bring to yours.
