Heat Advisory issued June 8 at 11:44AM CDT until June 9 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS St Louis MO
* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Illinois and central, east central,
and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon to 10 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time
outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion
and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety
and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...

Missouri River at Jefferson City.

Osage River near Mari-Osa Campground.
..Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Missouri...

Hinkson Creek at Columbia.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Missouri River at Jefferson City.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 24.5 feet, The Katy Trail Floods near Rocheport.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 4:45 AM CDT Monday the stage was 22.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
morning to a crest of 24.7 feet this evening. It will then fall
below flood stage tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor this
developing situation and issue follow up statements as conditions
change.

- At 133 AM CDT, emergency management reported flood in the warned
area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing. Between 2 and 3
inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.

Columbia, Mexico, Centralia, Columbia Regional Airport,
Hallsville, Auxvasse, Sturgeon, Rocheport, Murry, Midway,

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central Missouri, including the following
areas, Boone MO, Callaway MO, Cole MO, Moniteau MO and Osage MO.

* WHEN...Through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with very heavy
rainfall are expected across the watch area through Monday
morning. Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is possible with locally
higher amounts which could result in flash flooding where soils
are already moistening.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

- At 1006 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbia, Jefferson City, California, Ashland, Columbia Regional
Airport, St. Martins, Jamestown, Centertown, Rocheport, Easley,

issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...

Missouri River at Glasgow affecting Howard, Saline and Chariton
Counties.

Missouri River at Boonville affecting Cooper, Boone, Howard and
Moniteau Counties.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Missouri River at Boonville.

* WHEN...From late Sunday night to Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Low-lying rural areas along the river
flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:04 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 13.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
Monday morning to a crest of 21.4 feet Monday morning. It will
then fall below flood stage Monday evening.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
