Season’s Greetings,

Tonight the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office participated in our Shop with a Deputy program. To our knowledge this is the first one like it in the County and we had a great time with our kiddos! We are a nonprofit organization started in 2019, made up of your area law enforcement officers. Being totally ran off of donations we just wanted to let you know what exactly you’re hard earned money in the form of donations went towards.

Being a prior participant in Shop with a Cop I’m always amused and humbled by seeing the receipts at the end of the day. Yes, several nerf guns, remote controlled cars, dolls, and chocolates were purchased. But also purchased were several pajamas and coats. During this season of giving all present tonight were able to witness what I would deem the “Best in humanity” as these children ranging in age from 8 to 13, who had money to buy whatever they wanted, made the decision to not just buy for themselves but, also for their brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers. I will also say that every child who walked away tonight did so with a smile.

So tonight our Shop with a Deputy program was able to purchase clothing, toys, and food for a grand total of $669.18. More importantly though, we were able too, through your GENEROUS DONATIONS, provide several children and families in our County a little bit of that special thing that makes it so great to live and work in this great County during such a special time of year.
