A Bengali newspaper in New York today
made a headline about the trial of Ramisa's murder.
Bangladesh is said to be in a frenzy with the demand for justice.
No newspaper or television in Bangladesh, including Dhaka, has ever made such a twisted headline. The journalist behind the newspaper makes such twisted or over-colored headlines in every issue. He forces what is not true to make exaggerated headlines and becomes popular with the readers, which then boomerangs. These journalists do not understand anything except some well-known unscrupulous yellow journalism. They are nothing but the scum of society. Yes, there are many good journalists, not all of them are bad.
They remind us of the gossip magazine weekly Chitrabangla 35 years ago to get cheap praise.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited Ramisa's house and announced a speedy trial. We are also demanding a speedy trial for this brutal brutality and murder. The people of the country are also demanding a speedy trial. We completely agree. The murder of journalist couple Sagar-Runi, which has caused a stir in Bangladesh, has not been tried even after 13 years. Many such brutal murders, including the Tonu murder in Comilla or the Seven Murders in Narayanganj or the Twki murder, have not been tried yet. No one knows when the trial of the murder of a PhD student from Bangladesh in Florida two months ago will end. Is that why America is in a state of uproar? Where is the Bangladeshi uproar demanding justice? Murderer Sohel Rana is arrested along with his wife and is in jail. The Law Minister has asked for a charge sheet to be filed by Sunday. Nothing has happened across the country to cause a stir. So what does this mean about yellow journalism? Such incidents happen in all countries of the world. Trials also take place. We all demand a speedy trial for Ramisa.
We demand not just trial but exemplary trial. So that
she does not dare to do such heinous acts in the future.
