Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad

Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad TFARS is a volunteer organization providing pre-hospital emergency medical care and rescue services. Our ranks consist of approximately 45 unpaid volunteers.

The Tewksbury First Aid & Rescue Squad (TFARS) was established in 1990 by dedicated volunteers who served our community volunteering with other fire and first aid & rescue squads and joined together to establish TFARS. We have been providing excellence in prehospital care for over three decades. TFARS provides Basic Life Support (BLS) and various forms of rescue services. We currently have 2 BLS U

nits (ambulances), 2 first responder vehicles, 1 off-road rescue vehicle and 1 rescue vehicle. Since its inception, the squad has never charged a patient a single cent for the services we provide. Our annual budget is met entirely through donations and fundraising events. Our ranks also include a vibrant cadet program consisting of young women and men from the ages of 14 to 17.
