Peace Officer Memorial Day is a day to pay tribute to those heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting our communities. We honor the memory of our fellow local, state and federal law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The puppy is good. The photo of the puppy is not. We will get better ones, but this will have to do for now. Her name is Duckie and she’s soft and cuddly…like a baby duck. If you have a lap, she’ll love you. That’s her favorite place. She’s a friendly, sweet little thing. Weighs 20 pounds now, but Duckie is only 4 months old. She’s going to grow a lot…possibly to 55 or more pounds. Duckie is a mixed breed, maybe some kelpie or Doberman. But really, it’s anybody’s guess. She’s a pretty, sleek dog with beautiful caramel-colored highlights. Keep your eyes on Duckie…she’s smart enough to sail through school.
