Congratulations to Mrs. Crystal Poarch for being recognized as the inaugural recipient of Red Bud Elementary's Golden Apple Award. Red Bud Elementary 2nd grade students in Mr. Maldonado’s class were hard at work in small groups today.

Students rotated through multiple tasks as they practiced identifying subjects and verbs in sentences, using apostrophes, and building vocabulary. These activities helped students strengthen important reading and writing skills while working together and staying engaged.

Join us September 21–25, 2026 for our Literati Book Fair! We have special family shopping events planned each morning from 7:15–8:15 AM:

❤️ Monday, Sept. 21: Muffins with Moms — Grades Pre-K–2
🧁 Tuesday, Sept. 22: Muffins with Moms — Grades 3–5
🍩 Wednesday, Sept. 23: Doughnuts with Dads — Grades Pre-K–2
🍩 Thursday, Sept. 24: Doughnuts with Dads — Grades 3–5
🍪 Friday, Sept. 25: Goodies with Grandparents — All Grades

📍 The Book Fair will be located in the school library.

⏰ Please limit visits to your designated family event time to minimize time missed from class.

🙋 Interested in volunteering? Please email Mrs. Silvers at [email protected].

Grandparents Week luncheons will also be scheduled that week! Grandparents are welcome to bring their student to the Book Fair before or after their luncheon.

We loved having Sonoraville High School athletes join us for morning car riders today! Our Cardinals were so excited to meet these amazing student-athletes and start their day with some extra smiles and encouragement.

Red Bud Elementary 3rd grade students in Mrs. Carden’s class worked together with partners to compare and contrast two stories. When they finished, they continued exploring the authors in Epic on their iPads.

Students used a Venn diagram to organize their thinking as they looked closely at characters, setting, plot, and events. This activity helped students build reading comprehension skills while practicing how to explain similarities and differences between texts.

It was a great example of collaboration, critical thinking, and strong literacy work at RBES.

If you have not yet completed the 2027-2028 School Calendar Survey, please take a few moments to share your preference between Option 1 and Option 2. The primary difference between the two proposed calendars is the timing of Fall Break.

The survey also includes an optional section about school and district communications. These questions will help us better understand how you receive information, which communication tools you prefer, and whether there is interest in exploring a more centralized approach to communication.

The communications portion is completely optional and is not required in order to submit your calendar selection.
