Join us for Cookies and Photos with Santa right after the Calhoun City Christmas parade, Dec. 1. Photos are $10 per 5x7 photo - cash only.

The parade starts at 7:00 p.m. and the line for photos with Santa will begin to form before the end of the parade at the GAZEBO on the square. Santa will only be hanging around for an hour.

We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone last night at Octoberfest. There was an incredible turnout! Here are just a few pics of the goodies we sold. We overprepared and took the remaining items to the nursing home this evening.

A big thank you to everyone who helped and to everyone who stopped by our tent. Happy Fall, Y'all!

Come out and join us tonight for Octoberfest on the square from 5:30-8:00ish. We have great goodies (cookies, brownies, chocolate caramel apples, haystacks, rice krispie treats, hot chocolate and more) for sale and there will be a lot of other great food, too (BBQ, soup and chili, hot dogs and hamburgers to name a few).

Who is coming? We are right by the Chamber's tent (hot dogs and hamburgers).

Last night at the Calhoun City graduation, the Calhoun City Rotary Club awarded the Carter Dobbs Rotary Scholarship to Walker Hardin.

The scholarship committee asked applicants to write about how the objects of rotary have influenced (or may influence) their life.

In his scholarship essay, this year's Carter Dobbs Scholarship recipient, Walker Hardin, wrote,

"The third object of Rotary is the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life. To me this means that every minute of our lives should be spent in service to others.

My own personal acts of service may seem insignificant, but when paired with the service of others, they can have a greater impact on my community and in turn on the world."

We are so appreciative that Mrs. Laura Brower (counselor at Bruce High School) could come and speak to our club yesterday. We look forward to the possibility of partnering with her on the new pilot program next year at the Calhoun Career and Technical Center.
