Before you head to the polls today, I want you to think about the person you are voting for.
I was raised to never judge someone based on what others say, but instead to take the time to meet people, talk with them, and see for myself who they truly are. I believe every person deserves a fair chance, and I try to always look for the good in people until they show me otherwise.
During this mayoral race, I’ve heard plenty of talk. Some positive, some negative about Mr. Kenny Dale Cost. But from my own experience of sitting down, speaking with him, and really listening to his vision, I can tell you I believe he is a good man who genuinely wants to do what’s best for this city. He’s willing to listen, willing to work with others, and willing to put in the effort to help Calera grow the right way.
Unfortunately, we’ve also seen what happens when leadership is used for the wrong reasons. Time and time again, Jon has shown us that he is not a team player. He has openly disrespected council members and city officials, chosen lies over honesty to protect himself, and used his position for personal gain rather than the benefit of the community. Those actions raise real questions about his integrity and his ability to put Calera before himself.
This election is about more than just politics, it’s about trust, teamwork, and the future of our community. I’m asking you not to judge Mr. Cost based on rumors, hearsay, or what others may try to say against him. Judge him by his character, his willingness to engage with people, and his desire to serve.
Calera deserves a mayor who will unite us, not divide us. A leader who will respect his council, work with city officials, and put the people first. We have an opportunity to start fresh and build the kind of Calera we all want to live in a city we can all be proud of.
We’ve already seen time and time again why Jon should not be reelected. Now it’s time to give someone new a chance. I believe Kenny Dale Cost is the right man for the job, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting him today at the polls
