Courthouse Security doesn’t get a lot of spotlight… mostly because if they’re doing their job right, its just another day.

Sgt. C. Coker, Deputy M. Griffin, and Deputy N. Dewsberry spend Monday through Friday at the Annex keeping District and County Court running safely. They screen the door, cover every proceeding, watch the hallways, and handle the stuff most people never notice.

You may not see them as much as patrol or our internet famous sheriff, but they’re there every court day so judges, staff, jurors, and the public can do what they came to do.

Thank you, Sgt. Coker, Deputy Griffin, and Deputy Dewsberry. The Annex and County Courthouse runs a lot smoother because y’all are in it.

Never Forget.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11th, the men and women of the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office pause to remember the first responders and everyday heroes who ran toward danger that day.

We honor their sacrifice and carry that same commitment to service into every call we answer here at home.

Public Service Announcement

We’re hearing from residents on County Road 215 that someone is repeatedly dumping goat carcasses in the creek near their homes — at least ten times now. We can do better. If you have livestock that dies, dispose of it properly. Dumping carcasses in a field or by a creek is illegal, and charges can be filed under Texas dumping laws — with even stiffer penalties for dumping near waterways. If you see illegal dumping, report it to the Sheriff’s Office.

NEW SCAM EDUCATION 🚨

Scam artists have found yet another way to steal your hard earned money; Its not one we have seen locally, YET. This post was copied from another agency where a victim fell for the trap. Please, please share this with your family, neighbors, anyone who may be vulnerable to such a scam. Unfortunately the elderly are usually the first targets. DO NOT EVER GIVE ANYONE MONEY OVER THE PHONE.

From Bella Vista PD:

“We received a request for a welfare check on a woman whom the caller identified as her grandmother who was about to be scammed out of some money. The caller had a heightened sense of urgency in reporting this and we quickly dispatched officers to the location the caller identified.

Meanwhile, the woman we were supposed to be checking on was receiving a different phone call, saying that she owed this much money and she needed to pay because the cops were on their way to her house at that moment.

The grandmother was naturally spooked by these sudden threats, which were intensified by looking out the window and actually seeing police heading her way.
She paid the caller. She was scammed out of thousands of dollars. “

Law enforcement will NEVER as for payment via phone, We will never ask you to pay fines with Bitcoin, We will never ask you to pay fines with gift cards.
