Lewis and Clark Elementary PTO

Lewis and Clark Elementary PTO Lewis & Clark PTO unites families and teachers with the common goal of helping the students. What is the PTO? How can I help?

- Popcorn Fridays!

The PTO is the Parent-Teacher Organization for the school. It is an independent 501(c)(3) with the purpose of supporting students and staff. If you are a parent or guardian of an LC Learner, or a teacher/staff member of LC, you are automatically part of the PTO! The goal of the PTO is to support our teachers and help them and the students have a fun and successful school year. We do this by organi

zing fun activities to help raise funds to pay for field trips, as well as help teachers purchase school equipment and supplies that might not otherwise be in the school's budget. Parent involvement is crucial to the success of the PTO, and the best part… While some PTO members become part of the leadership team, you don’t have to be on the PTO board to be part of PTO! If you would like to help out, please contact us at the email below and we'll be glad to get you connected with opportunities to participate! This is our school year long fundraiser! We meet once a month on Friday at 8am to pop popcorn, fill candy orders, and distribute filled orders to each classroom. The next opportunity to help with this is on Friday, October 6th.

- Monthly PTO meetings! The PTO meets the first Thursday of every month at 3:45pm in the library. During remote learning, meetings are held on Google Meet (call the school office for the meet link). All Parents and Guardians are welcome and are encouraged to attend these meeting. This is a great place to get to know the teachers and other parents, as well as learn about upcoming PTO sponsored events and ways you can help. We also welcome ANY opinions and ideas parents might have.

- Volunteer! If you can't attend our meetings but still want to connect, reach out to us or the school principal to discuss ways you can volunteer. We can always use extra help during our fundraising activities and the school can always use regular parent volunteers to support classroom needs, recess supervision support, library organization, and a variety of other regular needs. Please visit the Lewis and Clark Elementary School website to get the Volunteer Form. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!! Contact Info:

Thank you to everyone who made our Fall Festival a success! That includes every family in attendance, parents who donated supplies for the raffle baskets (which were filled with amazing things; I wish I had gotten a picture), teachers who sacrificed their Friday night to run a game, our food vendors, the high school students who helped in all different ways, Winco Foods who donated drinks and the treats that were won at the cake walk, and anyone else I may have missed. LC has a wonderful community and together we raised about $2000 🙂 This will help fund field trips, supply classrooms with educational materials that support hands-on learning, and so much more.

If you would like to share what went well at the carnival or changes you would like to see in the future, please email the Lewis and Clark PTO at [email protected] or come to our next meeting! They are held every first Thursday at 3:45pm in the LC library.

It’s almost time for our annual Santa's Workshop event.

This week long event (December 11th-15th) is during the school day where teachers bring their class to Santa’s workshop. The LC PTO sets up Santa’s Worksop filled with all types of donations that the children can pick as gifts for someone at home. Doing this event helps kids feel like they are participating in gift giving and getting things for the people they love.

We are currently seeking Santa’s Workshop donations. There will be a box by the main entrance where you can put donations such as lotions, soaps, lightly used knickknacks for the home, books, purses, stuffed animals, candles, ect... we are also in need of holiday wrapping paper and/or gift bags as we will wrap the gifts before they are sent home. **The items do not need to be brand new but we ask that the donated items are in like new condition.**

We appreciate our community and thank you for your continued support. Happy Holidays!
