On Friday, May 8, Extension educators from across the Southern District hosted their second Pasture Clinic in McCall, Idaho!

This hands-on, interactive event brought together 20 participants from Valley County and surrounding areas for a full day focused on pasture management, soil health, irrigation, and grazing practices.

Led by Cheyanne Fisher, the clinic featured collaboration from Jemilla Chellappa, Jenn Smith, Melissa Hamilton, Emily Bedwell, and Armando Falcon-Brindis. We also partnered with the Payette Land Trust and local community members to bring real-world experience and local insight directly into the learning environment.

Participants rotated through a variety of hands-on stations, including soil sampling and texture evaluation, irrigation system demonstrations, pest management discussions, and rotational grazing practices. A highlight of the day included building a working K-Pod irrigation system and practicing temporary fencing setups for grazing management.

This clinic truly highlighted the power of collaboration between Extension, local producers, and community partners in delivering meaningful, practical education.

🌱 Stay tuned—be on the lookout for our Fall Pasture Clinic coming to Canyon County in September 2026! 🌱
