Georgia House Bill 1009 is a law signed by Governor Brian Kemp that enacts a "bell-to-bell" ban on personal electronic devices for public high school students. The legislation requires high schools to restrict the use of devices like smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and headphones during the instructional school day. Cairo High School will begin implementation of this law in the 2026-2027 school year.
