The Area Agency on Aging, Region 9 wants to remind residents that Regular Home Energy Assistance Program applications are available.

HEAP is a federally funded program that provides eligible Ohioans assistance with their home energy bills. This one-time benefit is applied directly to the customer’s utility bill or bulk fuel bill. Ohioans with a household income at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible for the program.

The Ohio Department of Development and the Area Agency on Aging, Region 9 will help income-eligible Ohioans stay cool during the hot summer months. The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program provides eligible Ohioans assistance paying an electric bill or assistance paying for central air conditioning repairs. The program runs from July 1-Sept. 30, 2023.
