Many of our GED graduates demonstrate this quality, and our most recent graduate, Nala Weaver, is no exception.

Nala started and stopped her GED multiple times and had to overcome many struggles to get to this point. It was a joy to watch as she finally achieved her goal.

Help me congratulate Elizabeth Jones for achieving a significant milestone!
We are thrilled to celebrate Elizabeth's success in earning her GED in just two months. As a single mother of three children, she exemplifies dedication and perseverance.
Elizabeth attended GED classes at our Caldwell County Adult Education Office. She also works for the office as a student worker through the Hopkinsville Community College Ready To Work program. Her next step is to begin college classes at Hopkinsville Community College in the fall with aspirations of becoming a Registered Nurse and eventually a Nurse Practitioner.
Elizabeth's journey to obtaining her GED was fueled by a desire to prioritize her own growth and create a better future for herself and her children. Despite initial fears and uncertainties, she found a supportive community that guided her through the process and made it possible for her to succeed.
Her message to others without their GED is both empowering and inspiring: "Seize the moment and pursue your dreams! You are worthy, and so are your children."

CONGRATULATIONS to Jojo Pittman!!! We are so excited that she passed her GED. 😊
Jojo began with us in January. She had completed 3 of the 4 GED tests but had quit working on it because she failed math.

After she moved to Kentucky, she decided she wanted to be a phlebotomist. That meant she needed to get started again. She was really nervous, but she took the first step and came to our center. Less than one month later, she had earned her GED!

Jojo shared that after she found out that she passed her last test, she was so excited that she felt like her heart was beating out of her chest. She rushed to get her girls. She wanted them to know she had passed. “I did it for my kids more than for me. I didn’t want them to follow in my footsteps. I couldn’t tell them to finish school if I didn’t.”✨

While Jojo was working on her GED, she and her children were homeless and had to stay in hotels. Her son also was severely burned. Still, she persevered and was able to pass her last test. 🥳🎓

To students who are working on their GED, she said, “Don’t give up no matter how many times you fail. After you get your GED, you will feel like a brand-new person.” To the ones who haven’t started working on it, she said, “Do it!”💯

Congratulations to our most recent GED graduate, Misty Darden!

We are so excited for her! Misty experienced many health challenges while she was working on her GED, so this victory is extra special. 😊 She is thankful for the support she received from family and friends and especially from her daughter, Graci.

Misty encouraged other students by saying, “Don’t give up. It’s a struggle but the hard work pays off.”

Now, Misty’s hard work is paying off as she is looking forward to pursuing EMT certification and a paramedic degree. Misty, we can’t wait to see you start your training! 🎓🥳🎓
